Brussels School
of International Studies of the University of Kent at Brussels (Brussels,
Belgium)
Conflict, in its many forms, is a permanent
feature of human society, but the nature of conflict and the uses of
violence change: intra-state conflicts and transnational terrorism pose new
problems for global governance. Our MA in International Conflict Analysis is
known around the world for its unique approach to understanding the
underlying causes for conflict in order better to appreciate the effects,
dynamics, and possibilities for conflict management, settlement, and
resolution. We supply our students with practical knowledge of current
challenges, taught by academics and practitioners in the field, better to
prepare our graduates for challenging careers in government, international
organizations, or non-governmental organizations.
Katholieke Universiteit
(Leuven, Belgium)
MA in
Conflict and Sustainable Peace
The Master of Conflict and
Sustainable Peace is a transdisciplinary program that aims to provide a better
insight in potential and existing violent conflicts, both on
the national and international level, and to teach students to develop
strategies of conflict transformation, violence prevention and sustainable
peace building.
To realize this objective, students
will get acquainted:
- with the relevant descriptive,
explanatory, normative, predictive and prescriptive methods of analysis;
- with the limits and possibilities
of different disciplines for understanding violent political conflicts and
the necessity of a transdisciplinary approach;
- with tools for the management of
political, organizational and interpersonal conflicts.
