Bosserman Student Scholars

Dr. Phil Bosserman and his wife Carol have been instrumental during every phase in the development of the Center for Conflict Resolution.  Phil and Carol worked for Salisbury University for nearly 30 years and it was their vision that the University teach peace and conflict resolution courses as well as house a center devoted  to peace and conflict resolution.  From meetings around their dining room table in the 1980s, where the Center for Teaching Peace and the minor in Peace Studies began, to their present role in guidance of the Center, Phil and Carol have constantly contributed their expertise and passion.  Together they have given countless hours to the running of the center from simple tasks such as answering phone calls and working the books to  leading the long-term evolution of our vision and mission.

Phil and Carol have given not only their passion and expertise, but also considerable time and financial resources to see that the Center becomes a leading outreach organization at Salisbury University.  To this end Phil and Carol made a substantial contribution to the Perdue-Kresge Endowment Campaign under which the Center endowment is managed.

It is fitting that some of the endowment funds go directly to scholarships for students who have done one or more of the following:

  1. demonstrated exceptional academic achievement in the Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution major

  2. shown outstanding service and dedication in assisting the center work toward long term goals or

  3. shown exceptional promise and talent as demonstrated in timely and meaningful field work they could not have accomplished without some financial assistance.

The following students are recipients of the Bosserman Scholarship:
